Tony Elected Vice-President of the Southwest Chapter of Mystery Writers of America
Tony was recently elected to serve as vice-president of the Southwest Chapter of Mystery Writers of America for 2010. MWA is considered the flagship organization for mystery and thriller authors. The chapter covers the states of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

Tony on Panel at Bouchercon!
Tony has been given a seat on a panel discussion at the 40th Annual Bouchercon: International Mystery Convention. Upwards of 2000 fans of mysteries will descend on Indianapolis from October 15th through October 18th. The panel "Men, Women, and Murder Through the Ages" will be moderated by Beverle Graves Myers, author of the acclaimed Venetian Baroque mysteries. Joining Tony will be bestselling authors Tasha Alexander and Roberta Gellis.
On Sunday, Tony and his publisher, Forge Books, will participate in the Book Bazaar, when attendees are allowed to buy tickets and exchange them for free books. All proceeds go to charity.

Tony Scores New Contract with Tor/Forge!
With The Killing Way less than two months old, Tor/Forge has offered a new contract to extend the new mystery series for two more volumes, for a total of four, so far! That will keep Tony's Dark Ages investigator, Malgwyn, going until 2012. Strong sales and great reviews are credited with the new offer.

Tony to Moderate Panel at Historical Novel Society Convention!
Tony has been tapped to moderate a panel on research at the Historical Novel Society's annual convention near Chicago in June. Along with fellow authors, Brenda Rickman Vantrease, Lauren Willig, and Roberta Gellis, Tony will discuss how to conduct historical research on a budget. Tony's Spring tour to celebrate the release of The Killing Way has seen him travel more than 15,000 miles to 5 states and 2 countries! With stops in Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas, Michigan, and Wisconsin (not to mention England), and future stops in Illinois and Arizona, Tony's new novel has risen to #4 on the May 3rd bestseller list from the Nashville Tennessean!

"Sisters" Published In Local Anthology
Tony's story, "Sisters," has been published in an anthology of Hardin County, Tennessee writers titled From the River's Edge. The piece, a poignant account of the relationship between two women in rural Tennessee, represents Tony's first short story publication in nearly a decade. Some 17 of his short stories have appeared in journals such as Printed Matter in Tokyo, Japan, Buffalo Spree in Buffalo, New York, and Appalachian Heritage in Berea, Kentucky.
Information about obtaining a copy of the new anthology may be obtained from Patty Majors at the Hardin County Public Library in Savannah, Tennessee.

"Family Jewels" Published!
Tony's Southern humor piece, "Family Jewels," appears in the latest edition of The Mayo Review. The literary annual is produced by Texas A&M at Commerce and features work from a broad range of authors, including Paris Review Poetry Prize winner Bryan Dietrich.
